Success is Good and Bad

I am happy to report that I am passing all of my classes this semester. Success is good!
Now on to the bad…April 1st is the update for the malicious conficker worm.
![]()
Conficker, also known as Downup, Downadup and Kido, is a computer worm that surfaced in October 2008 and targets the Microsoft Windows operating system. The worm exploits a previously patched vulnerability in the Windows Server service used by Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7 Beta, and Windows Server 2008 R2 Beta. The worm has been unusually difficult for network operators and law enforcement to counter because of its combined use of advanced malware techniques. (Graphic and article is from wikipedia)

There is specualtion if conficker is going to wreck its havoc on the internet on April 1st. Always better to err on the side of caution and update all your computers, make sure users have secure passwords, and update all anti-virus defenitions.

Speakeasy 5106
speakeasy-was an establishment which illegally sold alcoholic beverages during the period of United States history known as Prohibition (1920–1932, longer in some states). During this time, the sale, manufacture, and transportation (bootlegging) of alcohol was illegal. The term comes from a patron’s manner of ordering an alcoholic drink without raising suspicion — bartenders would tell patrons to be quiet and “speak easy.”
Speakeasies became more popular and numerous as the Prohibition years progressed, and more of them were operated by people connected to organized crime. Although police and Bureau of Prohibition agents would raid them and arrest the owners and patrons, the business of running speakeasies was so lucrative that they continued to flourish throughout America. In major cities, speakeasies were often quite elaborate, offering food, live music, floor shows, and striptease dancers. Corruption was rampant — speakeasy operators routinely bribed police to leave them alone or to give them advance notice of raids.

Want the answer? I give up, Einstein you are a genius and I am not, I just want to the answer so I can sleep at night <—click here to find the answer.
Study Break
Yes, its 4 am and I am taking a study break. I thought I would do a quick blog post since its been forever. School has been monopolizing all of my time which has left little room for anything else. This week will be crazy…have a 10 page research paper due Thursday along with a test on the same day, 2 other papers are due this week, and I have 2 quizzes.

I decided to shave my head today… it was spontaneous and now I am cold, which leads to the next picture.

It was freezing in the basement which is why I broke the out winter gear when I was writing a paper.
Lets hope I make it through this week… I wish it was already over.
Snow Storm 09 Pictures
Have a lot of cool pictures of the snow storm of 09. I will be posting them over the next couple of days!

This is my driveway. It is one big sheet of ice. I have never seen it like this ever.

My street.

Stay tuned for more snow storm pictures.
Snow Day
Since today is a snow day I thought I would catch up on some blogging.
Last week was my first week back to school. Friday’s are my early day so I thought I would I get out and take some pics.

Meet Justin Dunn, he was my admissions counselor and I knew him from when I went to CCU back in the day. He just started a church titled Legend Community Church<—click here. You can also check out his blog<—click here.
This picture was straight from the camera…you notice in the pic it has a bluish tint. My white balance was off a bit. This is not a bad thing since I think it gives the pic a cool look.

It is amazing how some editing in photoshop can make the picture look awesome.

I love black and white pics.

This is one of my professors and his bike. Once I graduate hopefully I will be able to get one of these bikes!
I am looking forward to learning from all my professors this semester. I have a different mind set going back to school this time. When you are doing something because you want to do it, it makes the biggest difference in the world.
Stay tuned for snow day part 2!

The Man Post #1
Welcome to a new series of posts I will be doing titled The Man Post. I will be covering all things that are considered “manly”. Manly is an adjective corresponding to manliness, manhood or masculinity—embodying the essence of being a man. Every picture will have link on it, so all you have to do is click the picture to go to the website.
I will be starting out with one thing that all men love… beer. I introduce you to the beer wheel. If you feel the need to have this spice up you bar/man area click on the picture and buy it.
This is awesome… every beer drinking man should have one.
I am a big fan of digg and they came out with their own bottle opener.

Bacon floss… I immediately thought of my friend Josh Emerson when I saw this. He loves bacon. I am not sure if he loves to floss but if he does this is the product for him.
This concludes the first Man Post. Hope it made you laugh a little bit. I already have content for the 2nd episode of The Man Post, so stay tuned
