Study Break

Posted on 02/23/09 3 Comments

Yes, its 4 am and I am taking a study break. I thought I would do a quick blog post since its been forever.  School has been monopolizing all of my time which has left little room for anything else. This week will be crazy…have a 10 page research paper due Thursday along with a test on the same day, 2 other papers are due this week, and I have 2 quizzes.

I decided to shave my head today… it was spontaneous and now I am cold, which leads to the next picture.

It was freezing in the basement which is why I broke the out winter gear when I was writing a paper.

Lets hope I make it through this week… I wish it was already over.

Have a lot of cool pictures of the snow storm of 09. I will be posting them over the next couple of days!

This is my driveway. It is one big sheet of ice. I have never seen it like this ever.

Snow Day

Since today is a snow day I thought I would catch up on some blogging.

Last week was my first week back to school. Friday’s are my early day so I thought I would I get out and take some pics.

Meet Justin Dunn, he was my admissions counselor and I knew him from when I went to CCU back in the day. He just started a church titled Legend Community Church<—click here. You can also check out his blog<—click here.

This picture was straight from the camera…you notice in the pic it has a bluish tint. My white balance was off a bit. This is not a bad thing since I think it gives the pic a cool look.

It is amazing how some editing in photoshop can make the picture look awesome.

I love black and white pics.

This is one of my professors and his bike. Once I graduate hopefully I will be able to get one of these bikes!

I am looking forward to learning from all my professors this semester. I have a different mind set going back to school this time. When you are doing something because you want to do it, it makes the biggest difference in the world.

Stay tuned for snow day part 2!

I ventured into the cold to take some pics at about 2 am. There was a fresh  dusting of snow on the ground. I have been waiting to get some snow pictures all winter. I am still waiting for a snow storm to get the pics I want but these will have to do for now. I also am going to post a before and after pictures of the pics I took. The before shots are right out of the camera and the after shots are after some editing in photoshop. This is also the first time I shot in full manual mode.

Coffee Shop and Basketball Game

Posted on 01/10/09 No Comments

Went to my nieces basketball game and I thought it would be a perfect time to try and catch some motion shots. First I went to my favorite coffee shop Reality Tuesday Cafe. I don’t even like coffee but I love this place.

As I was writing this I came across these pics of when I use to play in a band. We played quite a few gigs at Reality Tuesday Cafe.

One of my favorite drinks… a vanilla steamer. They also have invented a few drinks that I love called “The Grasshopper”, its awesome.

A picture from my seat.

I am supposed to be not eating as much sweets since the Holidays wrecked me in that area. But this chocolate cake was beckoning me from the display.

That is my niece Sarah getting stuffed… stuffed really good too. Sorry Sarah, I still love you even though you got the smack down on you.

Sarah either shooting the ball or going for a rebound.

Sarah taking a shot.

Another motion shot. These are the first time I have taken any motion shots. It was tricky to get. Most of the shots turned out grainy since I had my iso cranked up.

Amie driving the lane.

Sarah, I think she was embarrassed that I was taking pictures of her.

The final score… we won!

Prayer at the end of the game.

New Years Eve Shennagians

New Years this year was fun. Here are the pictures from the night… enjoy!

Meet Claudia… she is Clayton’s cousin and she is from Germany. She was in town for a family wedding. Jen loved her because she brought her favorite kind of wine.

Brooke is going to love me for this!

Bill and his lady friend (aka Edith). Her name is Mary. Clayton made her fit right in to the group by farting on her… the best thing was is she called him out on the fact that he farted on her… classic!

Not really sure what is going on here…

Jen boozin it up

Random

Clayton trying to play guitar and sing. Songs that were visited this night… the doobie song, nudie bar, and a brand new song that Clayton made up that night. That is all I will say about that.

J Biz… the freshest gangsta around.

I always bring fireworks on New Years. This year I brought 4 artillery shells but no tube. The tube is essential to being able to light these dudes off. So since we did not have one… we did what every American would do in a dire situation and crafted one. **I don’t recommend doing this, it is not the safest thing to do, but it worked rather well… kinda**

Before

Getting ready to light the first shell… and getting ready to run like hell to safety.

The aftermath… we were able to light off 3 out of the tube. It only went about 15 feet in the air. The last shell I just blew up on the ground.I think we successfully lighted 15 bottle rockets at once… a feat accomplished by only the best.

Meet Josh Emerson. This is not from New Years, this was my partner in blowing up stuff. He also supplied the pictures for this blog post.

Night Drive

It is Sunday, and I did not do anything today. I woke up at 1 pm and watched movies all day long. It’s nice to stay in all day and do nothing but I needed to get out. It was about 8 pm and I decided to head out and take some pictures.

I have been wanting to take pictures of these for a long time. I finally got out to do so. It is at a local greenhouse about 2 minutes from my house.

These are some of my favorite pictures to take.

All that photo taking has left me hungry. I ended up here at Skyline. For those of you who don’t know what Skyline is they make the best chili ever. Skyline originated in Cincinnati and is famous for its cheese coney and 3 ways.
