After a long two days of travelling we finally landed in San Pedro Sula. Being in Honduras you learn that nothing happens fast. So as a result you spend a bit of time… ok let’s be honest here… a lot of time waiting for stuff happen. It is not so easy coming from a culture where everything is here in an instant. But once you get in the mode of slowing down… it is nice and it is a breath of fresh air from the busy economy back in the states. After we eat our awesome breakfast whipped up by our amazing house mom, Gloria we have a few hours to relax and study. It is nice not to have to rush out the door in the morning and have some time to yourself. During that time I have been reading a devotional titled My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers and Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer.

Our breakfast on the first day!
Our first day of classes was on Thursday and in the morning we ventured out on a tour with “tour guide Carlos.†I will admit as I write this post at 1:19 am my brain feels like it is running on overload, with the information it is processing. Learning a new language and culture is tough and a taxing task. My brain is constantly observing and absorbing different sights and sounds.

Tour Guide Carlos!
Our class schedule is from one to five everyday. One of the few places I can access the Internet is at school and at the hotels around the area. After school Laura and Maria have been going to a dance/workout class… very similar to Zumba. I have yet to join in on the zumba fun… but I could go for some P90X.
Since I only have Internet access while I am at school I am writing all my blog posts the night before and will hopefully have time to post them the next day. I am starting to figure out my schedule and will hopefully fall into a routine.

Looks awesome! Hope you’re having a great time!
I’m still amazed at the all the wires on the telephone/electric poles. Looks like madness.

Andy-
How weird- in one post you mention two things I’m crazy about– Jon Krakauer and P90X!! Let’s plan a P90X workout together soon. I have the whole set here in Ceiba and have been needing some motivation to get started again. (and I promise my P90X moves are better than my zumba moves….maybe?) 🙂
See you tomorrow at Rio Maria…and possibly my place after if people are interested in hanging out on the beach here.
